Leonard Adleman has helped computer science advance in many ways. Leonard was born in 1945 (now 78) and received his bachelor's degree in 1968. He continued further education to receive a doctorate. After this, he taught at MIT and then at the University of Southern California. He made significant contributions to the field of computer science, including the development of the RSA encryption algorithm. He is also known for publishing Number-Theoretic Aspects of Computational Complexity and Molecular Computation of Solutions to Combinatorial Problems. On top of this, he created Verisign, which is used by many companies globally for digital certification.
