Joy Buolamwini

Joy Buolamwini was born in 1989 (now 35) yet, she has still helped computer science advance in many ways . She attended Georgia Tech and MIT for computer science. She was the youngest finalist in the 2009 InVenture competition at Georgia Tech. On top of this, she also represented the United States as Global Student. In 2013, she becamse a Rhodes Scholar. Her main contributions to the field include revealing bias based on race and gender in AI services in several big companies. This enabled her to educate brands such as Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM. Her other contributions include founding the Algorithmic Justice League, a non-profit orginization dedicated to holding technology accountable
